The upcoming devices will be part of the new Android XR ecosystem
Alongside the launch of its high-end Galaxy XR headset, Samsung also took time to tease its next step in wearables: AI-powered smart glasses, developed in collaboration with Google and two major eyewear brands, Warby Parker and Gentle Monster.
No specific timelines or images (other than illustrative teasers, like the one shown below) were revealed as part of the announcement. However, Samsung’s Head of Customer Experience, Jay Kim, confirmed the company is building these devices as part of its broader XR roadmap, leveraging the new Android XR platform and Google’s AI expertise.
As we’ve seen from Meta’s partnership with EssilorLuxottica, Samsung and Google’s efforts here appear to be prioritising diverse styles.
The collaboration with Warby Parker (known for its accessible designs) will likely target the mainstream market, while the partnership with Gentle Monster (a high-fashion eyewear brand) points towards more premium offerings.

Kim also stated these glasses will bring “style, comfort, and practicality” to everyday life, seamlessly connecting to the Android XR ecosystem to deliver AI features. So, again, a hint that these eventual glasses will be positioned as direct competitors to Meta’s successful Ray-Ban and Oakley smart glasses lineup.
When can we expect to see the first Samsung smart glasses arrive?
Other than that, details remain scarce.
Despite the peek behind the curtain at its smart glasses plans at the end of its keynote presentation, we don’t know what a potential collection will look like, what features they’ll be capable of, how much they’ll cost, or when exactly they’ll arrive.
Still, the timing suggests that we should see some smart glasses hardware in 2026, likely at a comparable price to devices like the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2).
Until then, stay tuned for more details.
