The new accessory fits seamlessly into the grip's tech port—but it comes with a hefty price premium
Garmin has quietly released a specialized version of its club-tracking system—the Approach CT1 SuperStroke Edition—designed for golfers who use SuperStroke putter grips.
Functionally, it operates like the brand’s existing Approach CT10 sensors. However, this new twist uses NFC technology to pair with compatible Garmin golf watches (like the Approach S70 or Approach S44).
So, before each putt, the user taps the tag on their watch to log the shot. This data syncs directly to the Garmin Golf app, enabling you to track shot dispersion, accuracy, and Strokes Gained putting analysis.
The puck is also battery-free, water-resistant (IPX7), and weighs only 6g, meaning it’s unlikely to disrupt the delicate balance of the ol’ flat stick.

It’s also been a long-awaited addition to Garmin’s golf lineup, since standard screw-in trackers often don’t fit into specialized grips (like those from SuperStroke). Instead, this SuperStroke Edition screws directly into the grip’s ‘Tech-Port’, offering a flush fit without any DIY modifications.
The price is right?
However, convenience comes at a bit of a premium compared to the brand’s other club sensor, with this SuperStroke Edition sold individually for $29.99/£24.99.
That makes it particularly more expensive than its CT1 bundle, which retails for around $100 for a complete set. It’s also a higher cost-per-sensor than the CT10s, which you can furnish a whole bag with for around $250-$300.
For those heavily invested in Garmin’s golf ecosystem, which now comprises a premium subscription, rangefinders, and even portable launch monitors, that little bit extra likely won’t trouble you too much. It really comes down to how much you value being reminded of your three-putts after your round has finished, I suppose.
