Those requiring plans in Spanish, French, German are finally covered with the update
Popular run-coaching app Runna has announced that the platform is now available in seven new languages, marking a significant step in its expansion plans.
The app is now available in French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, and Japanese, making its personalized training plans accessible to millions of new runners worldwide.
It marks the first significant change to the platform since Strava acquired it earlier this year.
The expansion aims to capitalize on the growing global running community by making its training plans, which cater to everyone from first-time 5k runners to seasoned ultramarathoners, accessible to key new markets across Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
Interestingly, the company also says that this is a full localization effort, not just a direct translation from English. The team has actively adapted the entire experience, including coaching videos, training content, and imagery, to be culturally relevant for each new market.
This move is the second major product announcement from Runna in recent months, following the beta launch of Races by Runna, a new platform for discovering races. Together, these updates also show a clear strategy to build a comprehensive, global ecosystem that supports runners from the moment they find a race to the day they cross the finish line.
Runna says it expects to add more languages beyond this initial set of seven. The company’s localization work on these languages, it says, will facilitate quicker rollouts of additional languages in the future.
We would also expect a raft of more focused partnerships for each region, building on what the brand has already achieved with partners like Parkrun and Lululemon.
