The smart ring leader also adds multi-ring support for switching between styles
Oura has expanded its fourth-generation lineup with the launch of the new Oura Ring 4 Ceramic, a new version of its smart ring available now for $499/£499.
Alongside the latest hardware announcement, Oura also unveiled a long-awaited charging case and Health Panels, a new $99 service that integrates blood biomarker testing directly into its platform.
New hardware: Four finishes and a $99 charging case
Crafted from zirconia ceramic, the new Oura Ring 4 finishes are available in four vibrant colors—Tide, Petal, Cloud, and Midnight.
The brand says the color is inherent to the material, ensuring it won’t fade over time, and also that Ceramic models will ship with a polishing pad designed to remove scuffs from softer metals (like dumbbells and bars from gym workouts).

Once the charging case arrives later this year, you’ll finally have a proper home for the ring when you’re not wearing it (perhaps, like me, at the gym or on runs). Oura claims the aluminum clamshell-style holder provides up to five full charges on the go, meaning it should theoretically last well over a month with top-ups.
The Oura Ring 4 doesn’t bundle or include this option like its rivals, such as Samsung, RingConn, and Ultrahuman. Instead, you’ll have to purchase it separately for $99/£99 when it launches later this year.
In-app, integrated blood tests and multi-ring support
Similar to what we’ve seen from Whoop’s Advanced Labs and Ultrahuman’s Blood Vision, Oura’s Health Panels feature allows US-based members to schedule a cardiometabolic blood test at one of 2,000 Quest Diagnostics labs directly through the Oura app.
The service will link results from 50 different biomarkers to the ring’s continuous data on sleep, readiness, and activity. The results are clinician-reviewed and delivered within the app, where a new Oura Advisor feature allows users to ask AI-powered questions about their results and receive personalized tips.

This string of announcements also includes a new multi-ring support software feature, which will allow users to switch between different rings on a single account. This begins its rollout for iOS today (October 1) and Android on October 20.
The Wareable take
This is a massive day of announcements from Oura, as it deepens its scientific health credentials while also pushing further into the luxury and fashion space.
The arrival of Health Panels is a direct response to the growing trend of screenless health-focused wearable makers integrating blood tests with wearable data. As we’ve said often over the last year, this is a serious new frontier for big players in the industry. And, again, it’s a clear step in Oura’s evolution from a wellness tracker into a comprehensive health management platform.
At the same time, the hardware announcements show Oura doubling down on its premium, accuracy-first strategy. At first glance, the Ceramic finishes are a play for the fashion-conscious, with expanded support for multiple rings catering to those who crave multiple smart ring styles.
What it isn’t, however, is a slimming down of the form factor (which we were semi-expecting from the brand if it did produce new hardware in 2025), though this will surely come with the fifth-generation devices.
The jarring $99 price tag for the charging case is another bold move, demonstrating confidence that its loyal user base (which has grown exponentially in the last year) will pay a premium for convenience in a way that rivals who bundle cases for free have yet to command.
Ultimately, Oura is flexing its market-leader muscles on all fronts. Whether this multi-front strategy can maintain its lead in an increasingly competitive market remains to be seen.
We’ll be testing the new hardware and the Health Panels feature as soon as it becomes available to find out how the experience holds up in the real world—and whether it justifies the premium.
