When the Jawbone UP3 was announced at the beginning of November the launch date was simply stated as “coming this winter”. Pre-orders then opened Stateside on 7 November with an estimated shipping date of “6-7 weeks”, offering hope that US Jawboners could be strapping on their new wearable fitness tracker come Christmas day.
However, almost six weeks later and the shipping estimate is now saying “8-9 weeks” and Wareable readers who have pre-ordered their bands have been in touch to vent their frustrations.
Reader bpjauburn stated that they had been offered a $40 credit because of the delay, and was told by Jawbone that the UP3 was being delayed until early 2015.

We’ve contacted Jawbone both in the US and the UK for clarification. At the moment, the UK UP3 landing page simply says “coming soon”.
Update: Jawbone got in touch to tell us that people who pre-ordered early on would get their UP3s early in the new year. The 8-9 week estimate is for people ordering now. Anyone who did pre-order early was offered either a $40 credit or a free Jawbone UP Move, which is a pretty nice touch from the company.
The Jawbone UP3 will cost £149.99 in the UK and $179.99 in the US and is the natural successor to the popular Jawbone UP24. With the stated 8-9 week shipping estimate, it will be mid-February before they start arriving for anyone who pre-orders now.
